¡Hola amigues! We are Babela, Ian and Iria, three friends who create music inspired by Latin American folklore under the stage name “Niña Maleza”, because we are like indomitable plants that grow where they want, fertilize their soil and resist. We fuse our roots with a message of rebellion, vulnerability and love, resisting against all odds with strength and authenticity. We planted our first seed, our first EP entitled “RUDA"

So that you can harvest it in your headphones, on your favorite platform, in your daily life, singing in the shower or dancing at your parties, we need your help for the album to grow and flourish.

We were brought together by “el palomo”, a tune by Violeta Parra, our love for her and our desire to bring her to life. We began organizing concerts in tribute to this inspiring Chilean artist, and found ourselves singing her in the streets of Brussels, blending our voices to create sweet harmonies, accompanied by our loves: Ian's charango, Babela's guitar and Iria's violin. Keeping our love and respect for Latin American folk rhythms, we felt the desire to create our own songs, reflecting the social problems of our country, the difficulties of being migrant women, our joys, our loves, our heartbreaks and our deepest desires. 

We believe that music is a way of reaching emotions, and we'd like to go further, so we've created our first EP, which will be officially and professionally released in March 2025.

R U D A

Inspired by this medicinal and protective plant used ancestrally (and currently) by South American women, RUDA contains six original songs, including Yo soy ta chérie, Verano azul and Nubecita. All this to spread our art, our values and our concerns even further, and also to show the result of women coming together to create, to support and inspire each other as women artists.

All this takes a lot of work: we used a professional recording studio, with a professional sound engineer, accompanied by a professional double bass player and two professional percussionists, and that's not all... ! Each song will have its own professional (and durable) illustration, created exclusively for Niña Maleza by a professional illustrator. 

That's why, dear friends, we urgently need your professional input. With your help, we'll be able to launch RUDA in a very professional way in March!
