Support Pregnant Women in Building a Stronger Community!

Mothers need a village to feel safe and connected, especially during pregnancy, birth, and the postpartum period. If you're new to the Netherlands, that means building your own support network before your baby arrives. This event is designed to help expecting and new parents connect, learn, and feel supported.

It's going to be a day of education, connection, and empowerment for pregnant women via expert-led sessions on birth and postpartum preparation, exercise, while creating an opportunity to build a strong support network with like-minded mothers.

Why This Matters

Expat women often face additional challenges during pregnancy, including:

  • A lack of familiar support systems

  • Difficulty navigating a new healthcare system

  • Language and cultural barriers

About Anna:

Anna Latham (US) is a registered nurse, childbirth educator, lactation counselor, and birth doula from the U.S. With over a decade of experience, she has supported pregnant, breastfeeding, and postpartum families across the U.S., Vietnam, and the Netherlands. Now based in Heeze, near Eindhoven, Anna founded Empowered Birth Services in 2024 to provide evidence-based education and compassionate support to growing families.

She is passionate about birth and empowering people to have positive and confident birth and breastfeeding experiences, helping them enter parenthood with knowledge and trust in their own abilities. As a mother of two, she enjoys biking, crafting, and sharing music with her daughters.

About Ingrid:

Ingrid Bal (NL) is a postnatal doula, founder of the international charity Postnatal Support Network and representative at the birth client organization Buikencollectief. She serves postpartum mothers in her region of Eindhoven, gives training in postpartum care and represent the client perspective in national postpartum policy and research development.

Her experience and skills have been formed by being a mother of two boys, as a yoga teacher and trainer, as founder of the PSN charity, in corporate business and hospitality. She is married, has two sons and is a passionate gardener.

About Julianna:

Julianna Feron (HU) is an expat birth doula, pregnancy coach, and childbirth educator based in the Netherlands. With over five years of experience, she helps international parents navigate the Dutch maternity system and prepare for a confident, natural birth. Through her doula services, childbirth classes, pregnancy massages, and online courses, she supports expectant moms in taking charge of their birth—without overwhelm or (too much) fear. She guides them with warmth and calmness, always aiming to create a safe space where they can feel strong, informed, and in control.

As a mother of two and an expat herself, Julianna understands what it’s like to give birth in a new country. She’s passionate about sharing knowledge, building trust in the body, and offering practical tools that actually help during labor.

In her free time, you’ll find her swimming, running, or cycling—or diving deep into her latest obsession (currently: story telling and public speaking!). At home, she’s often being chased around the kitchen island by two tiny adventurers.
