The workshop on creating a crowdfunding campaign for civic growfunding in Poland was aimed at people from rural areas and small towns, refugee backgrounds, as well as entrepreneurial people who have interesting ideas for developing various social initiatives.
We managed to invite a diverse group, with many interests and a willingness to develop their dreams and plans. Some of the participants have been undertaking social initiatives for a long time, often funding them out of their own pockets. This made the idea of growfunding all the more useful to them.
The workshop participants listened to the theoretical, introductory part of the workshop in great concentration. They watched with curiosity the campaigns implemented by our Belgian project partner Growfunding /, an expert in the field of growfunding. They also tried to write up their campaign ideas according to the guidelines given. It was a lot of fun to be able to describe the project; the biggest challenge, on the other hand, was budget planning.
The first steps in creating a campaign were made easier by the possibility to work together in small groups or pairs. Some tried to create a campaign on their own. Nevertheless, the success of these activities was the possibility to share them in the forum, with other participants and also with the trainers leading the workshops. The exchange of opinions, the feedback, the possibility to correct and complete the campaign was a good exercise. It gave space to create real campaigns in the future and enhanced the confidence of the participants.
We can only believe that social campaigns will become the “daily bread” in Poland, providing an opportunity to create close communities, collaborative environments and places that can be used effectively by all concerned.
